We’re the only locally owned and operated Honda dealership in Austin and we’re upfront about how our evaluation process works. Whether or not you trade in your vehicle or sell it to us, our offer to purchase stays the same.

The evaluation process takes about 30 minutes in which we examine the vehicle and provide you with a written offer valid for 7 days or 300 miles.

While you wait for the evaluation, enjoy our many amenities such as our complimentary coffee bar, big screen TVs, children’s playroom, and we’ll even do an exterior car wash!

Most importantly, if you decide to sell us your car, receive a check the SAME day if there’s a clear title (between 9AM-3PM, except weekends).

5 Steps to a Vehicle Evaluation

Step 1

Visual Inspection

First, we’ll together walk around and visually look at your vehicle for scratches, dings, dents, etc. that may require reconditioning work.

Step 2

Brief Test Drive

Next, we drive your vehicle around to ensure that it is mechanically sound. During this process, we invite and even encourage you to come along for the ride to answer any questions the evaluator may have.

Step 3

Mechanical Inspection

Then, we place your vehicle on a lift to see if there are any necessary items that need to be addressed by our ASE certified mechanics.

Step 4

Market Analysis

Afterwards, we examine what the current market conditions are, look for what vehicles similar to yours are selling for in the market to be sure we can offer competitive figures, and analyze what NADA says about your vehicle. NADA is what banks use to get an idea of what a car is worth since about 70% of consumers finance their car. For more info on NADA’s authority, click here.

Step 5

Offer To Purchase

Finally, after taking into consideration the market conditions, NADA, and any reconditioning costs, we provide an offer to purchase that’s good for 7 days or 300 miles. When you decide to sell your vehicle to us, we can write you a check (if there’s positive equity or a clear title) or put it towards a new car purchase for tax savings!

Q & A

Do I need to schedule an appointment or can I walk right in?

An appointment is highly recommended so that we can provide you with the best service possible. Waiting around for 20 minutes is not ideal for anyone.

What is the vehicle evaluation process?

Do you buy any vehicle?

We are looking for vehicles that are 1995 and newer, have less than 200,000 miles, not salvaged or flood damaged, and drivable (no tow ins).

Will you still buy my vehicle even if there are modifications/aftermarket accessories installed?

It depends on what kind of accessories and what type of vehicle they’re on.

Will you buy my vehicle that I’m currently leasing?

Yes, we do buy leases. Please note that this is not the same as turning in a lease.

Am I obligated to buy a car from you?

Not at all! We will buy your car whether or not you buy from us. Many traditional dealerships require you to do this, which is not what we do. We want to make this process fast, fair, and friendly to you.

Can I get an offer online?

Due to the many factors that go into looking at a vehicle, we must see it in person in order to offer you as much for your vehicle as possible.

Do you do off site vehicle evaluations?

We do not make house calls.

What do I need to bring to sell my vehicle?

What is positive and negative equity?

If the value of your vehicle is worth more than what you owe, that’s positive equity. If the value is less than what you owe, that’s negative equity.

How do I get paid?

If you decide to sell us your vehicle and there is a…

CLEAR TITLE: We will write you a check if you come in before 3PM during the weekday; after 3PM we will write you one the next business day.

LIEN (with positive equity): We submit the paperwork to your bank or lien holder to process. Once that’s done, the bank will send us your vehicle’s title and we write you a check.

Depending on how quick your bank is, typically it takes 4-6 weeks. We highly recommend being proactive to call your bank and let them know you’re selling your vehicle to us.

What if I have a lien on my vehicle (it is financed through a bank)?

If you decide to sell us your vehicle that currently has a lien, you have 3 options…
1. if there’s negative equity, you give us the difference to pay it off
2. if your vehicle has positive equity, we can give it to you in the form of a check
3. or even better, if your vehicle has positive equity, you may use it towards a new car purchase for tax savings!

What if I do not have the title to my vehicle?

In this case, we can’t buy your vehicle without a title. Please contact your local titling office on how to obtain one.

What if the vehicle I want to sell is not in my name?

For legality purposes, only the person(s) on the title or lien has the right to sell the vehicle. For questions about special circumstances, please give us a call.
